Inspired by skies and clouds, Tara's work encourages viewers to reflect on the beauty constantly above. Tara would be the first to admit how easy it can be to get lost in day-to-day worries and anxieties, but she finds great comfort in reflecting on her surroundings. During her study of art history, Tara was struck by notions of the sublime and comforted by the use of art to remind us that we're each one small part of a much larger picture. Tara hopes that through her work viewers are inspired to look at their surroundings in a new way.
By incorporating metal leaf into her work - usually covering the entire surface before applying paint - Tara mimics the depth and reflectiveness of the ever-changing sky. She lives and works in Maryland just outside of DC.
